C4FM Digital/FM VHF/UHF Dual Band Mobile Transceiver ASP

We are pleased to introduce the new FTM-510DR/DE C4FM Digital/FM VHF/UHF Dual Band Mobile Transceiver.

The FTM-510DR/E ASP shares the core feature set of the FTM-500DR with an enhanced new Super-DX and ASP (Audio Digital Signal Processor Unit).

  • Super-DX : When the received signal is weak, the sensitivity of the RF amplifier can be increased by activating the Super-DX function in both C4FM digital/ FM analog modes.
  • ASP (Audio Digital Signal Processor) : When operating in FM analog mode, the ASP can also be activated in addition to the Super-DX.  By digitally processing the received FM audio to remove noise, the ASP ensures reliable and comfortable audio quality for weak signals. This helps to expand the communication range.
  • ASP AUTO mode is also selectable. In this mode, the ASP is automatically activated when the transceiver detects weak signals in FM analog mode.

For intuitive and effortless operation, the PMG and MAG functions of the FTM-510DR ASP have been improved.

PMG (Primary Memory Group): Up to 5 VFO or Memory Channel frequencies can be assigned to the PMG (Primary Memory Group) and monitored.  The reception status of the PMG channels is displayed with an orange/ gray-colored bar graph in the PMG screen.  When a signal disappears, the bar graph color changes from orange to gray in real time.  With the FTM-510DR ASP, the gray bar graphs (historical received signals) automatically fade out 2 seconds after a signal is lost.  With the FTM-500DR, the gray bar graphs remain until they are manually reset by pressing the DIAL knob.

Other practical differences of the PMG function between the FTM-510DR ASP and the FTM-500DR are:

(Updated PMG in the FTM-510DR ASP)

    AUTO Mode
The PMG channels are scanned and up to two channels with signals are simultaneously received and heard.
Transmission is automatically performed on the received channel.

    MANUAL Mode
The PMG channel manually selected to transmit is always scanned and received. Other PMG channels are also scanned and a channel with signal can be received and heard at the same time.
The transmit channel is selectable by rotating the DIAL knob or touching the bar graph of the desirable channel in the PMG screen.

    (Current PMG in the FTM-500DR)

    AUTO Mode
The PMG channel manually selected to transmit is always scanned and received. Other PMG channels are also scanned and a channel with a signal can be received and heard at the same time.
The transmit channel is selectable by rotating the DIAL knob in the PMG screen.

    MANUAL Mode
The PMG channel manually selected to transmit is always scanned and received.  Other PMG channels are also scanned and shown in bar graph on display, but audio does not heard.
The transmit channel is selectable by rotating the DIAL knob in the PMG screen.

  • MAG (Memory Auto Grouping) : In addition to Memory channels which can be recalled by each band, the FTM-510DR ASP has the new “My Group” feature which permits selection of any memory channel regardless of band.
  • For the current FTM-500DR users, the updated PMG function and “My Group” in MAG feature will be available by updating the firmware if it is preferable.  The applicable firmware will be released by the end of February 2025.

The FTM-510DR ASP does not include the built-in Bluetooth unit.  By installing the optional Bluetooth® unit – BU-5, hands-free operation is available with the SSM-BT20 or a commercially available Bluetooth® product.

  • The Yaesu FTM-510DRASP is backed by a industry leading 3 year warranty. Country of Origin: Japan
