The design of the Eclipse+ does not allow the use of more than one speaker because the internal audio amplifier is only capable of driving one 4 Ohm speaker. So when an external speaker is plugged in the front panel speaker will be turned off.
What connector is used for the external audio speaker?It is a Standard RCA phono plug. This connector is exactly the same connector used on a VCR.
When I press the scan key the radio does not scan.The Eclipse+ will scan but the user must program the radio to scan. To program or select the channels to scan, go to the channel using the up or down keys and press and hold the SCAN key until the radio's LCD shows MEM. This means the channels are programmed into the scan memory. Repeat this procedure for all the channels that are to be scanned. Next adjust the squelch control to the point where the noise stops, press the scan key and the radio is scanning and will stop at a channel when a transmission is received. To remove a channel from memory, select the channel press and hold the SCAN key until MEM is removed from the LCD.
Is there a flush mount kit available for this radio?This radio can be flush mounted using the optional CMB16 flush mount kit available through any Standard Horizon dealer or our parts department at (714)827-7600.
