Erratic depth readings

There can be several causes for erratic depth readings. If the readings become erratic only when running the engine(s) or when the boat is moving the cause could either be interference from the engine(s) or cavitation. Also, poor bottom conditions can interfere with good depth readings.

Depth reading is constantly cycling up and down

Most likely the unit is in the simulation mode. To verify this unplug the transducer, if the depth sounder continues giving these readings then refer to the owners manual in order to remove the unit from the simulation mode. You can also remove the unit from simulation mode by resetting the microprocessor. This is done by turning the unit off, then press and hold the ON button on the unit while applying power to the unit. Once the unit turns on the microprocessor is reset. If there are no instructions present please contact technical support for assistance.

Can't I just put a splitter on the transducer cable to run two displays?

Transducers are "balanced" devices and are very sensitive to changes in impedance. If a splitter is installed the impedance is altered too severely and the transducer is no longer capable of operating.

How do I turn the power on and off on my depth instrument without having to disconnect it from the battery?

In a typical wiring situation the instruments are wired directly to an accessory panel or breaker. When power to the boat is turned on the instruments are designed to turn on automatically as well, making an on/off switch on the instrument unnecessary. It is possible to wire in an external on/off switch in-line if access to an accessory panel or breaker is not available.

WATER & IMPACT PROOF

The molded, one-piece waterproof front lens and function keys on the 35 SERIES instruments makes them perfect for open cockpit installations, where rain, spray and a drenching can be expected. Durable, coated PCBs are securely fastened in a shock tested, non-corrosive chassis to withstand the pounding instruments will be subjected to on a foul day.

EXTRA LARGE DISPLAY

Visibility is not a problem, with enormous bold digits and informational flags on a high contrast background. The 35 SERIES are easy to see even from a distance.

3 STEP BACKLIGHTING

Display and keys feature 3 levels of user selected backlighting providing crystal-clear viewing and operation in changing light conditions.

COMPACT SIZE

1-inches high, 4-inches wide and only 2-inches deep means minimum space is required for the Horizon 35 SERIES instruments.

GIMBAL OR FLUSH MOUNT

35 SERIES instruments come with an easy to install gimbal-mount bracket that permits installation on consoles, dashboards or overheads. The view angle is bracket adjustable. Additionally, 35 SERIES instruments are supplied with a flush mount bracket.

AVAILABLE IN COLORS

The attractive instruments are available in black and white to match the boat's styling.
