Sherwood Engineering Incorporated
2nd Highest Performing Receiver Receiver Test Data (sherweng.com)
We are pleased to introduce the FTDX10, a new long-awaited compact HF/50MHz 100W SDR Transceiver!
Hybrid SDR Configuration
Like the FTDX101 series, the new FTDX10 utilizes the Yaesu Hybrid SDR configuration - Narrow Band SDR and Direct Sampling SDR. The Narrow band SDR receiver emphasizes excellent receiver performance, while the Direct Sampling SDR provides a Digital Processing Real-Time Spectrum Scope.
Narrow Band SDR with 3 types of Roofing Filters and Phenomenal Multi-signal receiving Characteristics
Like the FTDX101 series, the Down Conversion type receiver configuration with the first IF at 9MHz has been adopted. It makes it possible to incorporate excellent narrow bandwidth crystal roofing filters that have the desired sharp “cliff edge” shape factor. Thanks to the Narrow Band SDR with the latest circuit configuration including 500Hz, 3kHz and 12kHz roofing filters and low-noise oscillator, the RMDR (Reciprocal Mixing Dynamic Range) reaches 116dB or more, the close-in BDR (Blocking Dynamic Range) reaches 141dB or more and 3rd IMDR (third-order Intermodulation Dynamic Range) reaches 109dB or more in the 14MHz band at 2kHz separation.
250MHz HRDDS (High Resolution Direct Digital Synthesizer) affords Quiet and Clear Reception
The local circuit of the new FTDX10 uses 250MHz HRDDS method same as the FTDX101 series. Thanks to its characteristics that improve the C/N (carrier to noise) ratio and the careful selection of components in the design, the phase noise characteristic of the local signal achieves an excellent value of -145dB or less in 14MHz at 2kHz separation.
3DSS (3-Dimensional Spectrum Stream) on the 5-inch Full-Color TFT Display with Touch-Panel Functionality
The 5-inch Full-Color panel shows the 3DSS display. By touching the frequency display, the numeric keypad is displayed, and the active band and frequency adjustment can be set by direct input. Frequency setting and adjustment can also be performed by turning the MAIN dial or touching the scope display. Similar to the FTDX101 series, the MULTI display, RX operation status display, Center, FIX and Cursor modes are available.
Front Panel Designed for Superior Operating Efficiency
MPVD (Multi-Purpose VFO Outer Dial), is a large multi-purpose ring around the outside of the VFO dial that enables control of Clarifier, C/S (custom selection function) and recall of memory channels.
Remote Operation with optional LAN unit (SCU-LAN10)
Remote operation of the transceiver is possible with the optional SCU-LAN10 and SCU-LAN10 Network Remote Control Software. In addition to controlling the transceiver basic operations, the versatile scope displays enable sophisticated operations such as monitoring the band conditions on a large display at a location away from the ham shack by connection to a home LAN network.

M-1 | The Condenser Microphone Element produces greater frequency response and clear, crisp audio characteristics perfect for being heard on crowd bands and in big DX pile-ups, while the Dynamic Microphone Element delivers the rich low-mid tonalities, favored for local QSOs. The response of each microphone element may be adjusted independently using the internal Nine (9) Band Graphic Equalizer. Each element has a separate volume control for independent adjustment of output levels. The output of each microphone may be selected separately, or they may be combined to produce the most pleasant tonality. Both the Condenser Element and Dynamic Element in the M-1 utilize the Nine (9) Band Graphic Equalizer (63Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, 8kHz, 16kHz). Each element’s frequency response is independently adjustable. Two (2) frequency response memories and a “through” mode are provided for each element, and are easily switchable by one-touch buttons on the microphone base. The PTT key uses three Air-Cylinder Tubes which afford a smooth and comfortable long keystone. The contactless magnetic switch ensures long-life and stable operation. Other included features are; Recording and playback capability (20 seconds), to confirm the audio tonality; Large red TX LED Indicator; Large Graphic Equalizer and Frequency Response Scope LCD Display with anti-reflective coating; Headphone jack; Touch PTT keylock; Built-in low-cut filter to shape the low frequency response; Cannon-type (XLR) output plug connector; and Audio output volume control for headphones. Two screwdrivers are included to precisely adjust the graphic equalizer and microphone gains.
M-100 | The Condenser Microphone Element produces greater overall frequency response - with clear and crisp audio characteristics - while the Dynamic Microphone Element delivers enhanced low and mid-range frequency response. A set of one-touch buttons on the microphone base enable the two microphone elements to be used independently or in combinations to create the most favorable sound quality for each person’s unique voice characteristics. Built-in Low-Cut (cut-off at 340Hz, -6dB/octave) and High-Cut (cut-off at 2kHz, -6dB/octave) controls shape the low/ high frequency responses enabling changes to be made in the transmitted audio characteristics, according to user’s preference and operating conditions. The supplied TBC (Treble Boost Cowling) further enhances the voice response attributes in the important 1,000 – 1,500 Hz range, in order to develop a penetrating signal with a condensed and specific texture. The PTT key actuates three Air-Cylinder Tubes, which afford a smooth and comfortable keystroke – free of a hard “click”. The incorporation of a magnetic switch ensures long-life and stable operation. The highly visible ON AIR LED Indicator clearly informs the user when the PTT circuit is active. The supplied microphone cable can be used to provide power to the M-100 simply by connecting with compatible YAESU HF transceivers*. Current YAESU HF radio owners can immediately start using this new microphone as an exciting and valuable addition to their current ham radio operation. Whether it’s for wider-range audio with more presence or focused energy to cut through the pile-ups, the M-100 is an exceptional station asset. While the recently released M-1 microphone provides the ultimate flexibility in enhancing each user’s distinctive voice characteristics - utilizing a full-featured Nine Band Graphic Equalizer - we are confident that the carefully selected feature configuration of the new M-100 offers the advantage of combining the two different microphone element characteristics with simplified operation, all at a very attractive price point.
M-70D | The M-70 utilizes a directional condenser microphone element which has a prescisely tuned the frequency response to obtain clear and crisp audio quality.. The PTT uses three Air-Cylinder tubes similar to the Reference Microphone M-1 to provide a solid and smooth extended operation. A simple one-touch PTT keylock button is placed just above the PTT key for those long rag chews. Built-in Low-Cut filter allows to shaping of the low frequency response (cut off at 340Hz, -6dB/octave). ON/ OFF is selectable by a sliding switch located on the bottom of the microphone. An isolation transformer is integrated in the circuit board to enhance the audio quality. The M-70 is compatible with all YAESU HF transceivers equipped with round 8-pin microphone connector or 8-pin modular microphone connector. We believe this Microphone will have a positive impact on your YAESU HF transceivers business.
M-90D | The M-90D and M-90MS utilizes a dynamic microphone element that is finely tuned to deliver rich low to mid frequency response desirable for a clear and concise conversation. Using a windscreen cover and a directional micophone element, the structure of the microphone of the M-90D and M- 90MS is designed to concentrate voice input from the front while reducing ambient noise from the side. Built-in Low-Cut filter creates clear and crisp audio characteristics by shaping the low frequency response (cut off at 340Hz, -6dB/octave). An isolation transformer is integrated in the circuit board in order to enhance the audio quality. The M-90D and M-90MS* are compatible with all YAESU HF transceivers equipped with the round 8-pin microphone connector or the 8-pin modular microphone connector.
